Riding Position

Ideally positioned handlebars

“To make the most of the bike’s stable yet responsive handling characteristics we mounted the handlebars closer to the rider,” says the project’s leader. “To get the 30 degrees of steering angle, lock to lock, we used compact radial-pump master cylinders for both the brake and clutch levers. And to ensure plenty of clearance between the bar ends and the tank at full lock, we put depressions into the left and right sides of the fuel tank. There is also a depression in the top of the tank for the rider’s helmet to allow him to tuck in fully behind the windscreen. The ZZR Series machines are famous for offering great handling and great comfort at all speeds, and we were determined that the new ZZR1400 be no exception.”
