Lightweight handling

To attain the desired level of handling performance extensive testing was performed by Kawasaki’s highly experienced test riders. To achieve this precise controllability meant not only superlative high-speed and medium speed handling, but also responsive, rider-friendly handling at low speeds, as well.

“ZZRs have a reputation for reassuring lightweight handling at low speeds as well as an excellent balance of agility and stability in the higher speed ranges,” says the lead chassis designer. “That is, the bike should be easy to manoeuvre but not too quick-steering at low speeds, and should stable without being overly rigid at high speeds. The trick is in finding the perfect balance between the two equally desirable characteristics. The ZZR1400 is, obviously, not designed for the race track,” says the chief chassis designer. “The bike’s handling package is engineered to give superior all-around handling performance in everything from city traffic to winding roads and high-speed highway cruising. When it comes to
trackfocused performance, the 10R and 12R may have superior cornering speed and flickability, but on the street the ZZR1400 offers an unbeatable combination of superior comfort, stunning performance and excellent stability across the wide spectrum of riding situations.”
